When googling what to do in Miami, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden was one of the items on many lists, and fortunately we were there right when they had a Dale Chihuly exhibit going on. The pieces were all integrated into the garden somehow, and absolutely beautiful to see on a warm and sunny day.

gardens by the bay
One of the things on my to-see list when visiting Singapore was Gardens by the Bay, and it was absolutely incredible; as an Environmental Science major, I seriously nerd-ed out. The park is absolutely humongous, supposedly spanning 101 hectares, and housing two huge conservatories - The Cloud Forest (a.k.a. heaven on earth) and the Flower Dome. The Supertrees Grove (the funny alien tree things) were also super awesome, between harnessing solar energy, colecting rainwater, and acting as part of the cooling systems, they are so multi-functional and really an example of what every city needs to move towards. I'll stop rambling and being a nerd about plants and energy consumption, and will leave you with these images from my adventures in one of the most magical places ever.

postcards from a month in paradise
Almost a year late, but recently I've been daydreaming of hot summer days and crystal clear waters as summer draws near. My month in South Caicos was pretty awesome, waking up every morning to the sound of crashing waves and glorious sunlight was surreal. And going to bed after seeing the most incredibly sunsets makes you feel so small in the universe. These images are a combination of shots taken with my Nikon D700, and my dear iPhone 5s in a LifeProof housing case that has now been retired.

gullfoss
Gullfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, and definitely worth the slippery winter trip. The few days I spent in Iceland were, unfortunately, cloudier than I hoped for, but the waterfall is still pretty stunning.

Just a few snippets from my first morning in Iceland. It gets even prettier from here -- keep your eyes peeled.
