copenhagen

After a month in tropical paradise last summer, I journeyed to Denmark where I spent a few days in perfectly designed Scandinavian interiors. I started my first morning wandering into dreamy Nyhavn, and had breakfast with the colourful houses, sailboats and vintage cars. Tivoli Gardens made me feel like I had jumped into the Harry Potter universe - there's something about all the colours and old-school decor about the second oldest amusement park in the world. Even if you're not into roller coasters, it's worth a trip there to check out the little stores. Another one of the highlights was an afternoon along the Danish coast, we visited the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art which was absolutely phenomenal, and finished the evening with dinner at Den Røde Cottage.

tucson

The summer of 2014 was pretty epic for me, and it began with five days at the beautiful Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona. Canyon Ranch was full of fun activities - I got to try aerial yoga, TRX classes, private pilates and so much more, I'm a fan. It was so nice to only worry about working out, lounging by the pool, and eating light with visits to the spa in-between. One early morning, I went hiking in the Sonoran Desert, and I literally have never seen so many cacti before in my life. It was kind of like being on an alien planet, in an awesome way.

athens, greece 2011

Athens was our last stop of the cruise and where we got off. We only had a half day there before jetting off to Paris but we took the morning to check out the Acropolis. It was swelteringly hot and I really don't know how the Ancient Greeks managed to build it in such conditions, but the Parthenon was fairly interesting. Though I probably didn't appreciate it much at the time, those structures are really quite astounding.

santorini, greece 2011

From the white buildings at the top of the island to the small alleyways to wander through, Santorini is by far one of the most beautiful places in the world. I think this may have been one of my favourite stops on the cruise even though, I have to admit that it did let down a little. We wandered the main shopping alleyway which, honestly, was not as exciting as I expected it to be though we did purchase a few things, took a brief cooking class and ended the day by taking the cable car back down to sea level. Despite my shopping expectations not being met, it is still one of the most incredibly scenic places on this planet.
