fifth avenue holiday-ified

The amount of effort put into the window displays on Fifth Avenue is incredible; from Sak's projected mini-animation-movie-thing to Harry Winston's flashing fairy lights and Christmas music, Fifth Avenue pretty much embodies the definition of Christmas. Bergdorf's mannequins were clad in 1920s themed clothing with the crazy feathers and black and white flapper outfits, Van Cleef & Arpels had undeniably realistic fake snow in their winter-themed displays, trees all up and down the street were drowning in sparkly fairy lights, jewellers Harry Winston and Cartier were blasting holiday tunes from mysteriously hidden speakers, and there is a giant snowflake somewhere between The Peninsula and Henri Bendel's. If you're looking for something to make you feel in the Christmas mood, take a stroll down Fifth and all you'll want to do is curl up in fuzzy clothing and drink hot chocolate / mulled wine / apple cider / whatever your holiday drink choice is.
